Project Summary
The Towantic Energy Center is a new 785-megawatt (MW) combined-cycle electric generating facility in Woodruff Hill Industrial Park in Oxford, Connecticut. Our team installed all critical piping, including low-pressure steam piping, high-pressure steam piping, cold reheat piping, hot reheat piping, and condensate piping.
The facility is a 2×1 combined-cycle project with two General Electric 7HA.01 combustion turbine generators, two heat recovery steam generators and one steam turbine generator. The primary fuel is clean natural gas; however, the plant will be capable of operation on ultra-low sulfur distillate fuel oil.
