Riverton Power Plant Expansion

Project Summary

We were contracted for the aboveground mechanical package for Riverton’s Unit 12 combined-cycle conversion project.

Our prefabrication shop fabricated P91 chrome-moly and heavy-wall carbon steel pipe spools for risers, downcomers, burner and SCR systems at a combined-cycle nominal 250-megawatt (MW) capacity gas-fired power facility. The project included shop-installed valves as well as fabricated lube oil, control oil, gland steam, spray water and drain piping.

Prefabrication was in support of the engineer-procure-construct team of AZCO and Burns & McDonnell, providing field installation of the Nooter/Eriksen heat recovery steam generator (HRSG), the 100-MW Siemens steam turbine generator and all associated piping. Work also included the balance-of-plant piping, structural steel erection of the steam turbine building, assembly of the steam surface condenser, and miscellaneous pumps, skids, transformers, bridge cranes, and chemical injection equipment.
