Biomass Boiler Installation

Project Summary

Our team installed a 30-megawatt (MW) biomass boiler, including the back-pass through the economizer, as well as related structural steel. The backend work included the electrostatic precipitator, selective catalytic reduction, air heater, filter house, stack, ductwork and structural steel.

The project also included the bottom ash conveyor handling system and load-out facility. The fuel yard handling system included conveyors, reclaimers, chippers, and support steel installation. We installed the steam turbine and generator as well as provided final alignments.

We erected buildings and assemblies for the chipper enclosure and chip storage buildings for processing and stockpiling the feed stock. We also installed the siding and roofing for the boiler building (inclusive of interior insulation and liner panels). Our piping team provided on-site fabrication and installation of 10,000 linear feet of large-bore pipe, 20,000 linear feet of small-bore pipe, balance-of-plant equipment setting and alignments, and instrumentation and tubing.
