Precious Metals Plant Modifications

Project Summary

Our team completed modifications at an existing precious metals plant. The work included site earth work, concrete and steel demolition, helical piles and concrete foundation installation, and structural steel fabrication. We also erected a 119-foot-long by 63-foot-wide by 40-foot-tall pre-engineered building addition, including 12-inch-thick by 63-foot-long by 43-foot-high masonry block fire wall, 3-inch to 42-inch diameter ducts, and a stack section with high-temperature internal painting.  

We fulfilled fabrication of the ducts, structural fabrication of the stack section, and pipe fabrication to support pump and equipment installation. We also handled supply of valves and specialties and pipe fabrication to support pump and equipment installation. 

Our work also included installation of 8-inch and 12-inch PVC underground drainage pipe, 10-inch city water tie ins and a silt fence. We also: 

  • Set a 12-inch diameter by 54-foot-high lime silo inside concrete containment
  • Installed owner-supplied screw conveyors
  • Supplied and erected miscellaneous structural platforms and supports
  • Relocated one cooling tower
  • Installed an owner-supplied cooling tower 
  • Installed an owner-supplied emergency backup generator
  • Completed asphalt repair.

All work was accomplished during regular plant operation with coordinated outages.
