The Moss Landing Energy Storage Facility in California is the largest battery storage facility in the world. Located on the same site as an existing natural gas plant and retired fossil generation assets, the facility will help stabilize California’s grid as utilities statewide shed key baseload resources.
We installed 310 tons of new and reinforcing steel as part of the Moss Landing Energy Storage Facility expansion. The new steel and reinforcing of existing steel was required to accommodate the volume and load of new battery storage racks, which bring the system's capacity to 400 megawatts/1,600 megawatt-hours. Our team worked 24,229 project man hours with zero injuries.
